Karen V. Rahming, nee Coleby, was born to the parentage of Edwin and Pearline Coleby (deceased). She was nourished in a home with very strict Christian principles. That greatly impacted her early walk with God. She committed her life to the Lord and His service at the tender age of 17 at the historic Community Holiness Church, where she received training in church ministry. There she served faithfully in multiple areas of ministry, from cleaning to being Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director, Musician, and Youth Leader.
In 1971, she and her new husband, Arlington Rahming, joined the thriving Golden Gates Assembly and continued to serve her gifts as Musician, Choir Director, and Minister of Music.
On July 06, 2003, Sis. Kay, as she is affectionately called, assisted her husband in planting the new Christian Discipleship Ministries International, where she also fills the roles of Pastor, Director of Women's Ministries, Mentor, Intercessor, Special Events Coordinator, and Altar Worker. “It is an honour to serve God and the people," she said.
Karen is a graduate of the Bahamas Teacher’s College and Nova South-Eastern University and has been a teacher for more than forty years, where she lead as Subject Coordinator of the Performing Arts Department at both D. W. Davis and Doris Johnson Senior High Schools. She is a humble servant who seeks to inspire, impart knowledge, and impact lives daily.
Pastor Kay continues to wear many hats; the most important to her is that of her family. She gives her all daily to her husband, Pastor Al, her darling children Alkeiria (Dr. Ian) Aleyne-McQuay, Shireasha (Reubin) Mader, Kayriel, and Gerrio Rahming, and six precious grandchildren.
